12 weeks. Real change. Rooted in the basics. 🌱✨

This is what can happen when we stop looking at hair loss as just a scalp problem and start looking at the whole body.

Over these 12 weeks, we saw measurable improvements in:

✨ Hairs per follicle
✨ Hair thickness
✨ Sebum balance
✨ Dead skin cell buildup
✨ Overall scalp health

Our first phase focused on the foundations: nutrition, nutrient demands, blood-sugar regulation, stress management, and creating a healthier environment for the scalp and follicles.

Because sometimes the most powerful first step isn’t adding another product—it’s giving the body what it needs to function, repair, and grow.

Now that we’ve strengthened the foundation, we’re moving into Phase 2: incorporating targeted advanced therapies and topicals to help improve follicle density, encourage continued growth, and maintain the progress we’ve made.

Hair growth takes time.
But when we measure the changes along the way, we can see that 12 weeks can make a difference.

Your hair is often giving you information about what’s happening underneath. Let’s listen to it.

Hair loss isn’t just about what I see on your scalp—it’s about understanding the story behind it. 🔎

That’s why I ask so many questions. Your timeline, stress, illness, digestion, hormones, sleep, medications, and lifestyle can all provide important clues.

Sometimes the trigger happened months before your hair ever started shedding.

The goal isn’t to guess. It’s to connect the dots and create a plan that makes sense for you. 🤍

Your hair has a story. Let’s figure it out.

PDRN + HAIR LOSS… let’s talk about it.

PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) is a DNA-derived ingredient that has gained a lot of attention in regenerative skincare—and now it’s being explored for scalp and hair health.

So what does it actually do?

PDRN has been studied for its ability to support cellular repair, tissue regeneration, circulation-related signaling, and healthy inflammatory responses.

And that matters because your hair follicles are living structures that depend on a healthy environment to function properly.

What makes the Smart Solutions RX PDRN blend especially interesting is that it combines PDRN with other supportive ingredients, including:

✨ NAD+ — supports cellular energy
✨ Niacinamide — supports scalp barrier health
✨ Blue Copper Peptides — supports tissue repair signaling
✨ Hyaluronic Acid — helps hydrate the scalp
✨ Antioxidants — help protect against oxidative stress

Think of it as supporting the environment around the follicle—not simply coating the hair strand.

And here’s the important part…

PDRN is not a magic cure for hair loss. The research specifically on hair growth is still emerging, so I see it as one potential tool within a bigger hair restoration strategy.

Because when we’re working with hair loss, I don’t just want to ask:

“What can we put on the hair?”

I want to ask:

“What does this follicle need to thrive?”

That means looking at the scalp, circulation, inflammation, nutrients, hormones, cellular health, stress and the potential root causes of shedding and thinning.

Healthy hair starts with a healthy environment. 🌱

Perimenopause is so hard on women and I am so grateful that extensive research and information is coming to light.
It’s important to look at all of the factors that might be influencing your symptoms.
We have to start looking at hair loss and thinning as a signal from your body and regain balance accordingly which will look different for everyone.

Your labs can be “normal” and your hair can still be telling you that something needs attention. 👀

When I evaluate hair loss or thinning, I don’t want to look at just one number.

I want to understand the bigger picture:

✨ Iron + ferritin
✨ Thyroid function
✨ Vitamin D
✨ B12, folate, zinc + copper
✨ Blood sugar + insulin
✨ Hormones
✨ Nutrition + protein status
✨ Symptoms, stress, digestion + lifestyle
✨ What I’m seeing at the scalp level

Because optimal hair health isn’t about chasing a single lab value.

It’s about understanding how all of these pieces may be working together—or where there may be gaps.

And sometimes, “your labs are normal” simply means you need to look a little deeper.

Save this post for your next lab appointment and send it to someone who has been told their labs are “fine” but their hair is telling a different story. 🤍

Could your hormones be affecting your hair? 👀

DHEA is one hormone I look at when trying to understand the why behind hair thinning and shedding.

Too high? It can contribute to increased androgen activity and follicle miniaturization.

Too low? It may be a clue that your overall hormonal environment needs a closer look.

And DHEA doesn’t work alone. Cortisol, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid, and blood sugar can all play a role in the hair-growth cycle.

✨ The goal isn’t simply to “balance your hormones.”
It’s to understand what YOUR body and your follicles are telling us.

Because healthy hair starts with understanding the root cause. 🌱

✨ Coming off birth control doesn’t have to mean feeling like your body is completely out of control.

When I decided to come off birth control, I wanted to be intentional about how I supported my body through the transition.

Instead of waiting for symptoms to show up, I focused on my foundations first.

That looked like:

✨ Targeted supplementation based on what MY body needed
✨ Epigenetic testing to better understand my nutritional and wellness needs
✨ Hormonal testing after coming off birth control to see what was actually happening beneath the surface
✨ Laser therapy to support scalp and follicle health
✨ Cold atmospheric plasma treatments to support the scalp environment
✨ Prioritizing protein, nutrients, hydration and whole-food nutrition
✨ Supporting my body’s ability to handle stress, detoxification and hormonal changes

And honestly? I’ve experienced little to no noticeable negative effects from coming off birth control.

Now, I know everyone’s body is different, and coming off hormonal birth control can affect people very differently. My experience isn’t a guarantee for someone else.

But it reinforced something I talk about with my clients all the time:

Your body needs the right foundations before you can expect it to function at its best.

It’s not about throwing supplements at symptoms.

It’s about testing, learning what your body needs, and supporting those needs BEFORE the wheels start to fall off.

And when it comes to hair? This is especially important.

Hormonal changes can influence the hair cycle, scalp environment, inflammation, nutrient demands and so much more.

That’s why I don’t believe in looking at hair loss as just a hair problem.

Your hair can be a reflection of what’s happening throughout your body.

Support the body. Support the scalp. Support the follicle. 🌱

That’s the foundation of my approach to hair and wellness.
