In loving memory of Lois Ann Hollars Hoshak, the undeniable matriarch, nurturer, and heartbeat of our family, went home to be with the Lord on May 25, 2026. God truly broke the mold when he made her. She was the best soul, and her loss leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born and raised in the small, close-knit town of Bronston, Kentucky to Ida and Raymond Hollars on August 3, 1946, she was the eldest of five siblings. Thomas Hollars, Ida “Pinkey” Collins, Jerry (Shelia) Hollars and Richard Hollars. It was in this role that her deeply caring and nurturing nature was born and grew, as she looked after those she loved from a young age. She and her siblings shared a bond that was unbroken by time or distance, remaining incredibly close to the very end.
She married her beloved husband, Michael Hoshak, March 20, 1965, while he was in the military. A journey that eventually brought them to Virginia Beach, VA. It was there that they planted deep roots, built a beautiful life and raised their family- creating a profound legacy that will endure generations.
Lois was the proud mother of two sons, Michael (Tammy) Hoshak and Mark Hoshak. Her boys were her entire world, and she loved them with fierce protective devotion. They are the foundation of her legacy. Through love came two more generations, including ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Brandon (kara) Baldwin their children Waylon, Savannah and Susannah, Randi Baldwin son Dawson, Gregory (Lisa) Hopkins children Elaine and Gregory, Shannon (Erik) Rodriguez son Jonas, Corey (Brittany) Rodriguez sons Coby and Kiro, Taylor (Dillon) Sapp, Katie Hoshak, Karaline (James) Hoshak daughters Isabella and Luciana, Jeffery Hopkins, Shaunnah Hopkins. As well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and additional relatives.
Our precious mother was the definition of caring and compassionate but also a true warrior for the ones she loved. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for someone in need, always putting others before herself. Her legacy of unconditional love, strength, and faith lives on in the beautiful family she built. She will be deeply missed, but we take comfort in knowing she is resting in the arms of the savior she served so faithfully.
