VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital's inaugural family medicine residents reflect on the past year in South Hill. VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital

We are thrilled to announce our latest DAISY Award winner is Kimberly Piland, BSN, RN. Kimberly is a Clinical Nurse II in our Emergency Department. A portion of her nomination reads, "Kim noticed a red locked bathroom door and instead of walking by, she knocked and didn’t get an answer. She then picked the lock and found the patient unresponsive. She appropriately called for help. The patient had CPR with ROSC/intubation. Ultimately, the patient had a good outcome. Kim saved this person’s life. If she wasn’t here, I don’t think anyone else would’ve taken the initiative to “check” out the locked bathroom door. Kim wasn’t primary for this patient. If she had not done this, I feel the patient wouldn’t have been discovered."

Thank you for everything you do to make a difference in the lives of our patients and the entire VCU Health CMH community!
