The Fourth Polarity – Rays of the Dawn

In Dr. Thurman Fleet’s Rays of the Dawn, jealousy and duty are described not as separate emotions, but as opposite poles of the same mental energy.

Jealousy represents the negative pole — a state that contracts the heart, narrows perception, drains vital energy, and pulls the mind into comparison, resentment, and emotional tension. The longer we remain in that state, the more exhausted and disconnected we become from our purpose.

Duty represents the positive pole — the same energy redirected toward service, responsibility, growth, and meaningful action. Duty expands the soul, restores inner balance, and creates fulfillment because it shifts our attention away from what others are doing and back toward what we are called to do.

Dr. Fleet taught that healing begins when energy changes direction.

You do not overcome jealousy through suppression or guilt. You gently move your attention toward the positive pole of Duty.

Practical Flip:
When jealousy arises, pause and ask yourself:

“What is my duty in this moment?”

The First Polarity – Rays of the Dawn
