We’re not saying Pop Rocks should sponsor our therapy practice…

But we’re also not saying they shouldn’t. 👀😂

Pop Rocks, our DMs are open.

We all have parts of ourselves that react, protect, criticize, worry, avoid, please, and try to keep everything together.

Parts work gives us a chance to get curious about those parts instead of judging them.

And yes… sometimes that conversation gets a little entertaining.

Just another day getting to know yourself!

Silence Doesn’t Make It Go Away

Sometimes we think that if we don’t talk about the hard things, they’ll eventually feel easier. But avoiding what hurts doesn’t make it disappear. Talking about difficult experiences can give your mind and body space to process what you’ve been carrying and begin working through the emotions.

You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Reach out to someone you trust. If you’re struggling and need immediate support, call or text 988, the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, to connect with a trained crisis counselor.

Your experiences matter. You matter. And you deserve support as you work toward the life you want to live.

We spend our days talking about coping skills, nervous system regulation, and healthy habits…

And then there’s caffeine.

Because therapists are human, too, we have feelings, stress, long days, questionable coping strategies, and apparently a shared appreciation for tasty beverages.

Do we recommend caffeine as a primary coping strategy? Probably not.

Do we occasionally raise our cups and call it self-care?

Absolutely.

POV: You can’t hold space until the hat is in place.

The best therapists don’t become someone different for their clients.
They become more fully themselves.

We all have something that helps us feel grounded.
For Davee… it’s the hat.

Your value isn’t something you earn. It’s something you already have.

No matter what you’re experiencing today, your worth remains the same, even through guilt, shame, embarrassment, anxiety, or depression.

The challenges you face may affect how you feel about yourself, but they never define your value.

Your worth doesn’t disappear during difficult seasons.
It doesn’t shrink because of mistakes.
It doesn’t depend on your achievements or what others think.

Your value has always been there. It always will be.

Sometimes, healing begins by remembering what was never lost in the first place.

With love, Sarah 🖤

I’ve spent years working with individuals and families affected by addiction, and one truth has become clear to me: people do not choose addiction. No one wakes up wanting to lose their family, health, career, or freedom. Addiction is often rooted in pain, something missing or something so overwhelming that relief feels impossible to find.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that addiction is a lack of willpower or a moral failure. It is not. It is a brain disease that can lead people to act in ways that do not reflect who they truly are or what they value.

The people I have worked with would give anything to get their lives back. They want to rebuild trust, heal relationships, and find peace. That is why I never believe anyone is beyond hope.

Recovery is not easy, but I have seen people restore their health, reconnect with loved ones, and build meaningful lives again. Healing is possible with support, connection, and the courage to ask for help.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please know this: there is hope. You do not have to do it alone. Reaching out for help is the first step toward getting your life back.

Therapist: “Start practicing saying no.”

Me 10 minutes later, giving an Oscar-worthy performance in the bathroom mirror:

“No, I can’t babysit your tarantula.”
“No, I can’t help you move this weekend.”
“No, I don’t want to be on the HOA board.”
“...No.”

Turns out, setting boundaries takes practice. The first few times might feel awkward, but every “no” to something that drains you is a “yes” to your own well-being.

What’s one thing you wish you could say “no” to a little more often?
