Across Africa, many congregations worship under trees, in borrowed rooms, or beneath temporary shelters. A permanent tabernacle gives a church legitimacy and a place to put down roots. We partner with the local church, moving towards one goal: a healthy church within walking distance of every African.

Africa Tabernacles directors, Tony and Kerri Ballard, visited a church that received its tabernacle in 2023. It was a joy to see the congregation gathered and thriving. The structure provided the start, but the local church is what makes it a center of worship and community.

For years, this congregation prayed for a building of their own.

They met wherever they could, through every season, and kept trusting that God would provide a place for them to worship. That prayer has now been answered with a permanent tabernacle. Every Sunday they gather here, and the building tells their community that this church is here to stay.

The roof goes up first, and the church can start meeting under it the same day. From there, local believers take the responsibility to finish the rest, completing the walls, windows, and doors themselves. By the time the last brick is laid, the tabernacle is truly theirs, built by the hands of the congregation that will worship there for years to come.
