New Podcast Feature
Taneshia Carey, MA, LPC, CAGCS, recently joined Sharon Brubaker on Grieve That S**t for a two part conversation about child loss, grief, identity, and what it means to continue living after devastating loss.
In Part 1, Taneshia discusses how grief can affect a person emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, and relationally, along with the difference between professional grief knowledge and actually living grief personally.
The conversation also explores parenting surviving children while grieving, fear after loss, staying connected to the person who died, and why functioning should not automatically be mistaken for healing.
One of the central messages from the episode is:
“Functioning tells you what someone is able to do. It does not necessarily tell you how they are doing emotionally.”
This episode offers an honest look at grief from both lived experience and professional perspective.
