This week, Promise Community Homes had the honor of hosting the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District, Mercy Hospital St. Louis, and SwimOn at our indoor pool for a pediatric drowning simulation with a medical training mannequin.

As we enter summer months and the risk of drownings unfortunately increases, emergency responders and clinicians must be prepared to handle these types of situations. The heated, indoor pool at the PCH community center provided a realistic environment where participants in the training were able to practice real-world applications in a drowning scenario.

One of the ways Promise Community Homes supports the stability and independence of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities is by making sure every house is fully equipped for residents to age in place.

This includes installing stable, durable, and long-lasting ramps so that those who rely on wheelchairs and walkers can safely and comfortably come and go from their own houses as they please and age with dignity in the neighborhoods and communities they call home.

Take a look at some Before & Afters from a few projects last year that replaced temporary ramps with safer and sturdier ramps, supporting affordable and accessible forever homes for residents who use mobility aids!

Break out your funkiest bell bottoms and far out threads for eight rounds of general knowledge questions. Additional games throughout the night include Dead or Alive, 50/50 Raffle, and Heads or Tails for even more out-of-sight fun. Our Executive Director goes above and beyond!

Due to the rain from the past few weeks and a clogged drain, the roof of the PCH Community Center unfortunately collected some standing water. So our fearless leader, Executive Director Matt Elmore, went up to the roof himself to unclog the drain and let the water pass through.

Since moving in a few months ago, these two residents have spared no time adding furniture, decorations, and personal touches, turning this St. Louis County house into their forever home. We love the matching chairs and flowers above the fireplace!

At its May board meeting, the Productive Living Board of St. Louis County (PLB) approved over $100,000 for essential home repairs, and more than $1.2 million towards the construction of PCH's Instilling Understanding multi-unit apartment building to further independent living for this incredible population.

In FY27, PLB approved $31,787,562 in total community investments supporting more than 4,600 individuals and families across St. Louis County through a variety of service providers.

These publicly funded services help residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) live more independently and participate fully in their communities.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Promise Community Homes 17th Annual Golf Tournament! We couldn’t have asked for better weather last Tuesday at Whitmoor Country Club!

Together, we raised over $65,000 for the specialty housing needs of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities! As a result, nearly 300 residents with IDD are provided with safe, affordable, and accessible homes for life.

Congratulations to the flight winners, as well as our inaugural “Last Place Laureates.” Special thanks again to our Tournament sponsors including The Fearn Group, TCG Services , Central Bank , Associated Bank , and many more. We couldn’t have done it without you!
