🌞 Heat Safety Starts with You! 🌡️
With the heat index climbing, it’s important to protect yourself and your loved ones from heat-related illnesses. Spending too much time in the heat can quickly become dangerous.
⚠️ Watch for signs of heat exhaustion:
💦 Heavy sweating
😓 Weakness or fatigue
🤢 Nausea or vomiting
💫 Dizziness or headache
🥶 Cool, pale, clammy skin
💧 Muscle cramps
🚨 Signs of heat stroke—Call 911 immediately:
🔥 Body temperature of 103°F or higher
🧠 Confusion, slurred speech, or loss of consciousness
❤️ Rapid, strong pulse
🌡️ Hot, red, dry (or sometimes damp) skin
🚫 Seizures
💙 Stay safe by:
✔️ Drinking plenty of water (don’t wait until you’re thirsty)
✔️ Taking frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning
✔️ Wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing
✔️ Avoiding strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)
✔️ Never leaving children or pets in a parked vehicle—even for a minute
