Sometimes the person pulling you through a hard day is barely saying anything.

Cycling friendship isn’t always dramatic.
Sometimes it’s:
“I’ll wait at the top.”
“You good?”
“Take my wheel.”
“I have an extra tube.”
“Eat something.”
“Come on—we’re almost there.”
Tell us about a small thing another rider did for you that meant much more than they probably realized.

Grand Tours end. The interesting question is what ordinary riders steal from them.

The 2026 Vuelta a España reaches its final day today.
We don’t have team cars, domestiques or race radios.
But professional racing can still teach recreational riders things about patience, positioning, teamwork, fueling, resilience and knowing when not to chase.
What’s one pro-racing habit or lesson you think actually transfers to normal riders—and what absolutely does NOT? 😅

Descending confidence is not the same thing as descending bravado.

A good descent isn’t the rider who scares everyone.
It’s the rider who stays predictable, sees ahead, leaves margin and arrives at the bottom with control.
Finish this sentence for a newer rider:
“The thing that helped me feel safer descending was ______ because ______.”

Your bike should not suddenly feel like somebody secretly added 40 pounds overnight.
Caption:
If pedaling suddenly feels strangely heavy, don’t immediately assume your fitness disappeared.
Possible things worth checking can include:
🛞 tire pressure
🛑 brake rub
⛓️ drivetrain problems
⚙️ gear choice
😮‍💨 plain old fatigue
What mechanical issue have you mistaken for “bad legs” before?

Today’s cycling lab: stop discovering your fueling strategy during the hardest ride of the year.

Big-event nutrition shouldn’t be a surprise exam.
Training rides are where you learn:
What sits well?
What’s easy to reach?
What do you actually remember to eat?
What becomes disgusting after several hours? 😂
What food or drink did you discover works surprisingly well for you on longer rides?
Share experience—not medical prescriptions.

September ride: 58° at breakfast, 78° by lunch. Your closet has entered the chat.

Shoulder season is basically cycling’s costume-change season.
The challenge isn’t dressing for the temperature when you leave.
It’s dressing for what the ride becomes.
What’s your most useful “temperature swing” piece of cycling gear—and why?
Not your fanciest.
Your most useful.

Group rides have a language nobody hands you a dictionary for.
New rider arrives.
Everybody suddenly starts pointing at potholes, flicking elbows, calling things out and moving around like they rehearsed it.
Nobody explains the choreography. 😂
So let’s build the dictionary.
Experienced group riders: explain ONE signal, call or piece of etiquette you wish someone had explained before your first group ride.

A corner should feel boring before it feels fast.

Beginner cornering thought:
Do most of your slowing before the turn.
Look where you want to go.
Keep the bike predictable.
Give yourself margin.
The goal isn’t to look heroic.
The goal is to exit the corner calmly thinking: “That felt clean.”
Experienced riders: what cue helped cornering finally “click” for you?
