I get asked this question all the time 👂🏻

So here’s the deal: yes, you can use Q-tips… just use common sense.

Q-tips are fine for cleaning the outer ear, but don’t try to remove earwax from inside the ear canal — that usually just pushes wax deeper and can make things worse.

A good rule? If you’re anywhere near the ear canal opening, hold the Q-tip where the cotton meets the stick. Your fingers will help stop you from going too far. 🙌🏻

One of the biggest misconceptions about hearing loss is that it’s simply about volume.

In reality, many people can hear vowels perfectly well — but miss the softer consonants that make speech clear and understandable.

That’s the difference between hearing sound and understanding speech. 👂
