You’re Not Alone — And It’s Probably Not What You Think
Yesterday I had 9 scans. Half of them came in for the same thing. Breast tenderness. And I saw the same fear on every single face.
I know that fear. Because 17 years ago, I felt it myself.
When I noticed tenderness in my own breast, my mind went straight to the worst. That fear is actually what led me to my very first Thermography scan, and what we found was a superficial area of dense breast tissue. Something that still gets tender to this day. Now instead of fear, I just recognize it for what it is.
That moment is a big part of why I do this work.
Here’s what I want you to know. Breast tenderness is one of the most common concerns I see, and in the vast majority of cases, it has a completely benign explanation. That doesn’t mean dismiss it, please don’t. It means come in, get answers, and stop letting fear fill in the blanks.
The most common causes I find are:
⭐ Hormonal fluctuations — shifts in estrogen, progesterone, and prolactin throughout your cycle are the number one driver of breast tenderness
⭐ Dense breast tissue — certain areas can become cyclically tender and are a completely normal finding
⭐ Fibrocystic changes — benign, very common, and often the culprit
⭐ Stress — studies confirm it can directly worsen breast pain
⭐ Certain medications — birth control, hormone therapy, and even some antidepressants can trigger tenderness
⭐ Muscle strain — the chest wall muscles sit directly behind breast tissue, so soreness from working out, lifting, or even carrying a heavy bag can easily feel like breast tenderness
⭐ Structural causes — a poor fitting bra, rib inflammation, or referred muscle pain that shows up in the breast
This is exactly where Thermography shines. Unlike other imaging, Thermography can detect lymphatic congestion, hormonal imbalances, areas of inflammation, and circulatory changes in the breast tissue. It gives us a functional picture of why the tenderness is happening, not just that it’s there. It helps us get to the root cause so you’re not left with unanswered questions or unnecessary fear.
Your body is talking to you. Let’s find out what it’s actually saying, not what fear tells you it’s saying.
