Up next on our staff spotlight is Susan, our Occupational Therapist! She wanted to be photo-less so read all about her below π
Susan is from Columbus, Ohio and was born at the Ohio State Medical Center - Go Buckeyes! π° She is the youngest of five siblings and has five kids of her own. Susanβs hobbies consist of crafts, sewing, cooking, being outside and spending time with family and friends. She enjoys playing volleyball, but donβt ask her for her thoughts on running! πββοΈ
Susan received her undergraduate degree in exercise science from Brigham Young University and while expecting her second child, she received her Masterβs degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toledo. She decided to take time to raise her children before practicing as an occupational therapist. Now, she has been working in the pediatric field for over 11 years. π
Susan initially wanted to work with adults but as she watched her own children grow up, she saw the need for helping children learn the skills required to thrive in their community. As an occupational therapist, Susan works on improving and providing strategies in the areas of fine motor, hand writing, sensory regulation, executive functioning, ADLs, and social emotional. Susan enjoys working with kids because she not only helps them but also gets to play with them during her sessions. Susan was most recently voted as one of the three best rated OTs in the Toledo area-Congratulations Susan! π
Susan stated that her favorite part of Carpe Diem is getting to work with other therapists and the great families that come to us. Our work environment is very open, friendly, and welcoming to everyone! β¨
