What Makes an Anterior Hip Replacement Different?

The anterior approach allows surgeons to access the hip through the front of the joint, working primarily between the muscles rather than cutting or detaching major muscle groups. By preserving surrounding muscle structures, this approach may offer benefits such as less pain and faster mobility during the early stages of recovery for some patients.

The goal? Help patients regain strength and mobility and return to the activities they enjoy. Recovery varies by individual, and your surgeon can help determine which approach is best for you.

What is a sprained finger? A finger sprain occurs when the ligaments or surrounding soft tissues around a joint are partially torn or injured. This can happen in many sports such as football, basketball, or volleyball.

While a sprained finger may seem like a minor injury, these injuries can sometimes take longer to heal than expected. Proper evaluation and treatment early on can make a significant difference in your recovery and help prevent ongoing stiffness, pain, or other complications.

An X-ray is often a good first step to rule out a fracture or other injury. If you’ve injured your finger, we encourage you to come see us and have it evaluated early so you can get on the right path to recovery as soon as possible.

Do athletes need different orthotics for different sports? In most cases, the answer is no. Ashlynn Hoback, Board Eligible Prosthetist Orthotist explains why.

Many sports involve similar movements, such as running, pivoting, cutting, and quick stops and starts. Because of this, athletes typically do not need a completely different orthotic for each sport.

However, we may make adjustments based on the athlete’s footwear, including how the orthotic fits and how it is contoured within the shoe.

The goal is to make sure your orthotics provide the right support while allowing you to perform comfortably and confidently—whatever sport you play.

🛞 Teamwork makes the dream work…even in the parking lot! 💪

After a late meeting, one of our OI team members found herself in the parking lot with a flat tire and a YouTube tutorial on how to change it. Thankfully, Tiff H., Caleb, Adam and Lexi came to the rescue!

With a little teamwork, plenty of laughs, and a few photo ops along the way, our OI pit crew had her back on the road in no time! 🔧🚗

This is what teamwork looks like at OI! Showing up for one another, lending a hand, and making a difference—even after hours.

We’re grateful for a team that goes above and beyond, both inside and outside the clinic!
