What if the questions we’ve been asking about chronic disease aren’t the right ones?

Science moves forward by testing assumptions, not accepting them!

Dr. Dayan Goodenowe shares why he believes it’s important to look deeper into the biology behind type 2 diabetes and continue exploring new ways of understanding human health.

Whether you agree or disagree, the conversation is worth having.

For decades, Type 2 diabetes has largely been explained through one lens. In this lecture, I challenge that perspective and discuss why I believe it’s time to look deeper at the underlying biology.

Scientific progress begins by asking difficult questions, testing assumptions, and following the evidence wherever it leads. Whether you agree or disagree, meaningful advances in health come from open discussion and continued research.

This month marks a milestone that I’m truly grateful for.

Over the past several weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to four separate Newsweek articles discussing Alzheimer’s disease and emerging neuroscience research.

While it’s an honor to be recognized by a national publication, what matters most to me is that these conversations continue to bring greater awareness to brain health, the biology of neurodegenerative disease, and the importance of advancing scientific understanding.

Every interview is another opportunity to help translate complex science into information that patients, caregivers, families, and healthcare professionals can better understand.

My sincere thanks to the journalists at Newsweek for their thoughtful reporting and their commitment to covering important developments in neuroscience.

I also want to thank the many researchers, clinicians, collaborators, and members of our community whose curiosity and dedication continue to move this field forward. Scientific progress is always a collective effort.

I look forward to continuing these conversations and sharing research that has the potential to improve how we understand brain health and aging.

I’m looking forward to joining Autism Health’s Cocktails for a Cause on August 5 in Costa Mesa as this year’s guest speaker!

For more than 30 years, my work has focused on understanding the biology of brain health and sharing the science behind cognitive resilience. I’m grateful for opportunities like this to connect with families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, and others who are passionate about advancing education and supporting the autism community.

It’s an honor to be part of an evening that brings people together for such an important cause. I hope you’ll join us for an evening of conversation, connection, and community.

What if your body shows changes years before you feel them?

Dr. Dayan Goodenowe, PhD., is the founder of Prodrome Science and the creator of the ProdromeScan®: a biomarker assessment designed to measure biological patterns associated with vulnerability that may emerge years before clinical symptoms of conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, ALS, autism, cardiovascular disease, and others.

By understanding these early biological changes, Dr. Goodenowe’s research aims to shift the conversation from reacting to disease to understanding what may happen before it develops.
