If your smoothie leaves you hungrier, more bloated, or reaching for sugar by 10 a.m., this is for you.
I used to think a smoothie had to be green enough, low-calorie enough, or “healthy” enough to count.
But a smoothie is not a personality test and it definitely does not need to punish you before breakfast.
The ones I come back to are simple: enough protein to help me feel steady, fiber-rich plants that work for my body, a satisfying fat, and flavors I actually want to drink. Think berries, greens, chia, avocado, Greek yogurt or a dairy-free alternative, and a protein source you tolerate well.
For some people, cold raw smoothies are not the best fit every day. That does not mean you have failed at wellness. It means your gut may appreciate a different texture, temperature, ingredient, portion, or a little more professional guidance. Your body is allowed to have a voice in the recipe.
Save this carousel for the next time you want breakfast to feel supportive instead of stressful. Start with one recipe, notice how you feel, and make it your own.
Which smoothie are you trying first—or what is one ingredient your gut loves?
