Today, we remember.

We remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We honor the families whose lives were forever changed, the first responders who only cared about others, and all those who continue to live with the physical and emotional impact of that day.

Twenty-five years later, the memories remain powerful.

So does the courage, compassion, and humanity we witnessed in the days that followed.

May we never forget those we lost, never take for granted the sacrifices made, and always remember the strength that can come from standing together.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

I’m honored to be featured in Helpful Living Magazine with my article:

FROM SKEPTICISM TO BELIEF: WHAT EMDR TAUGHT ME ABOUT TRAUMA HEALING.

Helpful Living is dedicated to helping individuals better understand mental health and self-care, something that is especially important when so much of the information available today can feel overwhelming, confusing, or difficult to apply.

In this article, I share my own journey from being skeptical about EMDR to seeing firsthand the difference it can make for people living with trauma and PTSD.

For veterans, first responders, survivors of abuse or traumatic events, and civilians carrying the effects of experiences that may have happened years ago, trauma can continue to affect sleep, relationships, emotions, confidence, and everyday quality of life.

EMDR has changed the way I understand and treat trauma, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with Helpful Living readers.

The full article is available to Helpful Living subscribers and the link is in the COMMENTS, but if you would like to learn more about EMDR and how it works, I’ve created a free EMDR ebook you can read today.

Healing from trauma is possible and understanding your options is an important place to begin.

The word ā€œtherapyā€ is a medical term with its own definition.

We all know the power of a review. Whether we are searching on Google, Amazon, or Yelp, what others share often influences the decisions we make.

But some reviews carry a different kind of meaning.

This is not about a set of bedsheets, a steak dinner, or a doggy daycare service.

It is about someone regaining a sense of calm, peace, confidence, and control in their life.

It is about being able to enjoy meaningful moments again, feel more like themselves, and move forward without anxiety or trauma controlling every decision.

For me, receiving a testimonial like this means I have made an impact that extends far beyond the ordinary.

It is a reminder of why I do this work and what is possible when someone decides they are ready for change.

Thank you Mark Bradford for trusting me with your daughter's care and for sharing the experience.

Your words may give someone else the hope and encouragement they need to take their first step toward feeling better.

FAQ: How Do You Know Whether a Therapist Is the Right Fit?

Finding the right therapist is deeply personal. It is not just about credentials or availability. It is about trust, expertise, communication, and whether the treatment approach truly fits your needs.

If you are struggling with anxiety, panic, PTSD, or trauma, specialized care can make a meaningful difference.

That is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation. It gives us both a chance to determine whether my experience, approach, and practice model are the right fit for you.

This week, I celebrated a special birthday surrounded by family and friends. It was a reminder of how important it is to be present for the moments that matter.

But I also know that for many people living with anxiety, celebrations do not always feel simple or joyful.

Anxiety can begin stealing the moment before it even happens.

It can make you dread the dinner before you arrive, overthink the conversation before it starts, cancel the plans you were once looking forward to, or spend the entire vacation waiting for something to go wrong.

It does not always have to be severe anxiety to affect your life.

Sometimes it quietly takes away the joy from the simple things: a birthday, a movie night, a date, happy hour with coworkers, a family gathering, or a long-awaited trip.

Over time, anxiety can convince you that avoiding life feels easier than enjoying it.

If this sounds familiar, I encourage you to stop and take the first step.

Schedule a free consultation with me, and let’s take a few minutes to walk through what you are experiencing.

Together, we can begin looking at a plan to help you return to clarity, confidence, and calm.

Because the next birthday, vacation, dinner, or milestone should not be something you survive.

It should be something you are fully there to enjoy.

And maybe next time, you will be the one singing louder than anyone in the room (even me).
