Congratulations, Dr. Mathey!

Congratulations to Dr. Mattson Mathey, recipient of the WRITE Excellence in Teaching Award, celebrating preceptors dedicated to student success and impactful teaching.

Dr. Mathey is recognized for his thoughtful mentorship and commitment to students in Thermopolis, Wyoming.

“Dr. Mathey was an incredible resource for me throughout WRITE. As a WWAMI grad himself, he understood my experience and how to best prepare me for my other rotations. He also allowed me to come back after my WRITE experience to deliver a couple of OB patients I had been seeing with him. His feedback was always extremely useful, and I truly appreciate every minute he spent walking me through documenting a mental status exam or thinking through a differential diagnosis.”

Today we are celebrating Dr. Liz McKenzie's graduation from the Thermopolis Rural Training Track! We appreciate all of the care she has provided to our community over the past two years and are proud of the multitalented physician she has become. We wish her all the best as she transitions to OB fellowship!
