•Postpartum Rage 🤯 affects 31% of new moms!

•Can often appear to you as anger 😡, moments of flashing out 🤬, immense irritability 😬, physical outburst👊🏾, helplessness 😫, and lack of control 🫠....but these red flags 🚩 are just the "tip of the iceburg" and are

•Likely being caused by the things that you don't see "under the surface", such as sleep deprivation 😴, lack of help 🤷🏾‍♀️, relationship issues 💔, physical health issues 🩻, financial strain 💸, hormones 🧬, etcetera.

•It's IMPORTANT as moms to not let the shame or guilt keep us from being tansparent of these intense emotions 🗣

•If you feel like you are suffering from Postpartum Rage....you are NOT ALONE. A counselor can help you navigate the waves of postpartum rage by helping you: gain coping skills 🧠, prioritize your needs 💪🏾, and to build/rely on your support system 💚

💕💛A Gentle Reminder from Walk With Grace

During Bereaved Parents Awareness Month, we invite you to join us for our upcoming One Hour of Power support group as we hold space for parents and families mourning the loss of a beloved child!

This gathering is a place of compassion, connection, and understanding. There are no expectations, only an opportunity to be surrounded by others who truly understand. Come as you are, allow yourself to sit with your emotions, remember your child, and give yourself permission to simply feel… and grieve!!

If you feel comfortable, we invite you to bring a photograph or special keepsake of your beloved child. There will be an opportunity to share their story and honor their beautiful life!

We are honored to walk alongside you and look forward to seeing you on Wednesday!!!💛💕

Consultation with the Baton Rouge Perinatal Counseling collective this month was especially magical. There’s something so intimate and moving when a group of compassionate, brilliant, motivated providers and aspiring clinicians come together to support one another both in encouragement and accountability, and therefore, improve quality of care for the population served. The future of Louisiana perinatal families is igniting with more hope as time goes on! Working hard to fill the gap, y’all. 🙌💗

Postpartum Psychosis is both scary and serious! But help is available!!!

PSA for Baton Rouge ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

There is a lot of misinformation being posted and shared right now given a local news story. Your strong reactions are a normal response, too. Unfortunately a postpartum experience often has to escalate to tragedy to get media attention.

Postpartum Psychosis is a serious medical emergency. However, most people who do experience PP do not harm themselves or anyone else. There is a risk of danger when psychosis includes delusional thinking and irrational judgement. Do NOT turn avoid a mama who is having a hard time.

It can be overwhelming as a spouse, a support person, or a family member, when a new mother is in crisis. BUT HELP IS AVAILABLE!!!

Call or text the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline at 833-852-6262. Available 24/7 to speak to a counselor trained in maternal mental health to help advise on next steps.
