Weekend plans: Soaking up some Vitamin D!☀️🪴

Sunlight plays a massive role in orthopedic health. When your skin absorbs sunlight, it produces Vitamin D. This vital nutrient helps your body absorb calcium, which is the ultimate building block for strong, healthy bones.

Just 10-15 minutes of casual sun exposure a few times a week can give your bone density a natural boost.

What are your outdoor plans for this beautiful weekend? Tell us in the comments! 🚴👇🏽

When most people think of an ankle sprain, they picture the ankle rolling outward. But there’s another, less common type—called a medial ankle sprain.

The medial (deltoid) ligament on the inside of the ankle is much stronger than the ligaments on the outside, which makes it less likely to be stretched or torn. Because of this, medial sprains make up only about 15% of all ankle sprains.

These injuries are seen more often in sports like football, soccer, and gymnastics, where they usually result from a direct blow to the ankle rather than a simple twist.

Building strength in the muscles around your ankle can help reduce your risk. Balance exercises, such as standing on one foot, improve stability and make it less likely that you’ll roll or injure your ankle. Wearing proper footwear and protective gear during sports also plays an important role in preventing injury.

Our team is here to help in the event of an injury. Give us a call and we’ll help get you back on your feet!
