Ben West started this initiative after the sudden loss of his 15 year old brother to su***de in 2018. Over the years, the initiative has sent over 4.9 million letters.
I wanted to post this because it’s Su***de Awareness month (though I tend to post quite a bit about su***de prevention and awareness).
It’s a beautiful resource. Either you can write a letter or read a letter.
The important thing is- no matter who you are, your age, race, gender.. no matter your job or political affiliation or financial bracket… su***de affects all of us. We all go through hard times and it’s easy to feel so isolated, especially in North Dakota.
Remind yourself- Someone Always Cares.
Remind a friend. Your community. A stranger.
I care, and 4.9 million letters and counting are reminders that strangers care, too.
When the world feels heavy, a kind word can make a difference. Receive anonymous letters from people who have been there. No pressure, no spam—just a quiet reminder that you are not alone.
