A retinal image gives us a view of the back of your eye, including the retina, optic nerve, blood vessels, and macula. The central part of the retina. During your exam, we use this image as one part of the bigger picture and explain what we see in plain language.

Why take it each year? Comparing images over time may help your optometrist notice changes that do not affect your day-to-day vision yet. Clear vision today is reassuring, but it is not the same as knowing your eyes are healthy.

Dry eye can be stubborn, especially with Space Coast wind, sun and salt air.

At Academy 2026, real-world findings offered a hopeful note for people who were still struggling after trying several treatments. The report looked at pairing Xiidra, which targets inflammation, with Miebo, which helps reduce tear evaporation. Some people in the report experienced symptom improvement.
