✨ Sometimes babies have plans of their own. ✨
Every so often, a baby decides they simply cannot wait for the midwives to arrive.
While these births are uncommon, they are something we prepare our families for throughout prenatal care. Parents learn what to expect, what to do, have all the right supplies, and know when to call us. By the time their due date arrives, they are equipped with knowledge, confidence, and support.
If labor unfolds more quickly than anticipated, rest assured… we are on our way. During the drive, we remain connected by phone, listening carefully, offering guidance, assessing the situation, and prepared to coordinate additional assistance if ever needed.
Most often, by the time we walk through the door, we are greeted by proud parents cradling their newest family member and marveling at what they have just accomplished!
Our role then becomes completing the remaining assessments, performing a thorough newborn examination, caring for the birthing parent, answering questions, and helping everyone settle comfortably into bed.
These moments are filled with relief, laughter, happy tears, and celebration. Parents discover just how capable they truly are, and we have the privilege of witnessing the first moments of a growing family.
Birth doesn’t always follow the timeline we expect… but when families are prepared, supported, and trusted, amazing things can happen.
🌟Your body knows how to give birth.
💫Your baby knows how to be born.
💛And your midwives are always on their way.
