It's Newborn Screening Awareness Month! Tomah Health is part of the Wisconsin Newborn Screening Program that helps ensure newborns are screened, diagnosed, and treated for certain conditions as early as possible. The screenings include a simple heel prick that checks for more than 30 serious but treatable health conditions, a hearing screen, and a congenital heart screening. At Tomah Health, these important first screenings can all be completed right here, close to home—helping give your little one a healthy start from day one.

🍂🚗 Fall Vehicle Prep Checklist: Do It Now, Thank Yourself Later
The leaves are changing, pumpkin spice is everywhere, and before long, winter will arrive with snow, ice…and the annual outbreak of questionable driving decisions. ❄️
Tomah Health Emergency Management Specialist Shayla states that Fall is the perfect time to get your vehicle winter-ready before the cold sets in!
🔋 Battery: Test it if it’s old.
❄️ Coolant: Check your antifreeze.
🛢️ Oil: Fresh oil = less winter drama under the hood.
🛞 Tires: Check your pressure and tread.
⛽ Gas Tank: Keep it at least half full.
🧤 Emergency Kit: Pack extra hats, gloves, blankets, a flashlight (with working batteries), phone charger, snacks, water, sand or kitty litter for traction.
🍂Don't forget to "pack": Extra patience and have A playlist long enough for an unexpected roadside adventure just in case!

As we head into Labor Day weekend, keep food safety top of mind at your cookouts, picnics, and gatherings. Remember these four simple steps:
