This month GirlTREK is dedicating our walks to justice-impacted women.

This month, I am walking for** Latequa Golson**, she’s also known as **Tiki**.

Tiki, who has allowed me to share her story and walk in her honor.

Tiki was raised by her wise grandmother and has **walked **through immense loss—grieving her mother, her grandmother, and the tragic loss of her husband to gun violence. Yet, through every challenge, she continues to walk forward, and her resilience shines through. She works tirelessly as an advocate for her incarcerated sibling, and guided by faith, prayer, and recovery, she has earned a spot on the Dean’s List **twice** while working towards her HR Management degree. Today, Tiki uses her story and compassion to uplift, support, and bring hope to others facing deep pain. It is my true honor to walk this month for my sister **Tiki**.

Sisterhood Saturday at Druid Hill Lake Loop was phenomenal! We enjoyed each others company and sweated around the inclines. This was a great walk of joy and celebration!

We closed out Black Maternal Health Week at Howard University Hospital at the Black Maternal Health Week Health Fair and Community Baby Shower all hosted by students at the university.

It was dope! We shared Maternal Walking Resources such as Serenity Walks and Mommy and Me Trackers created by Keturah.

Maternal Health is Everyone’s Business!

Within footsteps of the Capital Wheel, families from across the DMV came out to support Maternal Health and walking today in National Harbor!

Thank you to everyone who showed up, walked, helped at the GirlTrek Information Table, and cheered everyone as they finished with a victory bridge!

We will be sharing digital resources later this week to further support moms in their health and wellness journey.

We are proud promotional partners of Mamatoto Village who did a phenomenal job of hosting their first 5k! The hydration station was lit with water bottles for walkers, age appropriate sippy cups for children! Village vendors spanned from informational to healthy drinks, body care wellness, women’s hospital resources, diapers, wipes, child changing station, parents lounge and so much more. This walk truly had mamas in mind and everyone who supports them!

Happy start to Black Maternal Health Week! —which is going on now from April 11-17th.

Let’s continue supporting our sisters and sharing resources for Black Maternal Health because why? It’s Everyone’s Business.
