Our office is able to test for most food allergies, provide necessary medications and education, and even now provide oral immunotherapy treatment for some foods such as peanut and tree nuts now. Call our office to schedule an appointment with our providers if you are interested in learning more or being tested for potential food allergies.

Air Quality Alert: Protect Yourself from Wildfire Smoke

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires may cause eye, nose, and throat irritation and can worsen symptoms for people with asthma, allergies, COPD, and other lung conditions.

To help protect yourself:

🏠 Stay indoors whenever possible

Keep windows and doors closed.
Limit strenuous outdoor activities until air quality improves.

😷 Wear a well-fitting N95 mask outdoors

If you must spend time outside, an N95 mask provides the best protection against fine smoke particles.

🌬️ Improve your indoor air quality

Run your home's HVAC system on recirculate if possible.
Consider using a MERV-13 furnace filter or a HEPA air purifier.
Set your vehicle's air conditioning to recirculate while driving.

💊 Take your medications as prescribed

Continue your daily controller medications.
Use or increase your rescue inhaler use (such as albuterol) as needed if your asthma symptoms increase.
Be sure you have enough medication on hand.

💧 Stay hydrated
Drinking plenty of fluids may help soothe irritated airways.

Contact your healthcare provider if:
Your rescue inhaler is not providing relief.
You develop increasing shortness of breath, wheezing, or chest tightness.
Your symptoms are becoming difficult to control.

🚨 Seek emergency medical care immediately if you experience severe difficulty breathing, chest pain, and/or your rescue inhaler is not helping.
