The Pediatric Specialists Medical Group We began as a husband and wife practice and have worked together for more than 15 years.

We have developed our practice to be as child and family friendly as possible. As the practice has grown we have been fortunate to add an outstanding Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and then an excellent Pediatrician who both share in our love of children and dedication to the high standard of care we have set in our practice. Because we are all parents ourselves we understand the special trust our p

atients place in us. As a small group we offer personalized attention and consistency of care. When your child is ill and needs to be seen they will be seen the same day by someone who knows their history and will provide the best care possible. If there is a complex medical problem we will be personally committed to making sure that everything is done to make the right diagnosis and obtain the best care available. When there are concerns after hours you will be able to speak with one of us directly. Our goal is to provide the most up to date medical care for our patients by working together as a team with parents to help keep our patients both healthy and happy.

Summer is moving quickly, and back to school time is almost here. If your child is in need of a sports physical, school physical, or any immunizations before starting school, schedule their appointment NOW. Appointments are very limited in these last few weeks before school starts. As a reminder, an up to date vaccine record and physical form are required for all incoming Kindergartners and 7th graders. All 7th graders are required to have a Tetanus booster completed after their 11th birthday. Call now if your child is in need of a physical or vaccine update!

Just saw a patient today who had a minor scrape on his back from a water park, so I thought this was a timely article when I saw it this afternoon. I love a day at the water park, but they definitely present obvious and not so obvious dangers. Make sure your kids adhere to the parks rules and restrictions, know your child’s swimming capabilities, and try not to drink the water are just a few tips to help keep your kids safe while they enjoy the fun of the water park.
