🍼✨ Artificial Wombs: The Future of Birth… or Sci-Fi?
You’ve probably seen the headlines — clear pods, umbilical cords hooked to monitors, babies growing outside the body.
Not just internet hype, either. A few months ago, even Duke University hosted a symposium to debate the ethics and viability of this tech.
So what’s actually happening?
Science is developing small, high-tech “uterus-like” systems designed to support extremely premature infants — babies who may not have survived otherwise. Think advanced life support, not replacement pregnancy.
So far, animal research has shown promising results.
And also? A LOT of debate.
Because this isn’t just about technology — it’s about autonomy, access, and how far we want medicine to go.
So… where do you land?
