We met Miriam at our most recent Red Maple Roots - Hearing The Call of Giving on October 16, just a day after her 104th birthday! 🎂 Our passion is hearing care for everyone, and this surely was a special day for our Red Maple Audiology team!

How Everyday Patients Make a Difference | Dr. Ashlee Vandiver

Did you know that your hearing health care can help change someone else’s life? Dr. Ashlee Vandiver explains how everyday patients contribute to the give back efforts of Red Maple Roots, a local nonprofit dedicated to improving access to affordable hearing health care.

When patients purchase hearing devices or receive testing and consultations, a portion of the proceeds helps provide affordable hearing care to Mainers who will benefit from these services. These efforts also extend internationally, reaching communities with little to no access to essential hearing health services.

Together, we can make better hearing care possible for more people, one patient at a time.

Can You Hear… Or Are You Guessing?

Many people with hearing loss don’t notice it right away. The brain becomes surprisingly good at filling in missing words, especially in familiar conversations.

Common signs include:
• Asking people to repeat themselves
• Turning up the TV volume
• Struggling in restaurants or group settings
• Difficulty hearing on the phone

If any of these sound familiar, a hearing evaluation may help provide answers.
