SCHC VOTES!

Once again our residents exercised their voting rights with the help of the Unity Town Clerks office. We appreciate the time and dedication of the Town Clerk and the wonderful volunteer’s who assist us with new voter registrations, absentee ballots, assisting our residents, and helping to make the process a fun time. We enjoy this partnership and our residents are grateful for the opportunity to make sure their voice is heard!

Sullivan County Health Care residents are the proud recipients of a donation from the Claremont Elks club. Volunteers from the Elks club worked with our staff to determine what the residents would benefit from the most.

Our therapeutic recreation team is excited to begin offering a drumming class! We received exercise balls and laundry baskets for this program. Utilized with drum sticks, the exercise balls are a proven therapeutic way for older adults to enjoy drumming to a variety of music while incorporating movement, exercise, and fun into the activity. We have big plans for this program which can be held on individual floors and incorporated into one large group in our beautiful new space.

The Elks club also donated new clothing. At times, we have admissions that come in from the community that may not have clothing with them and no way to obtain it. This donation will offer a comfortable set of pants and a warm sweatshirt to someone as they transition to SCHC and make their stay more comfortable and a bit happier.

With appreciation to Exalted Ruler, Todd Abbey and the Claremont Elks Grant Committee. We are so grateful for this wonderful donation and the time that the volunteers from the Claremont Elks Club gave to our residents and the SCHC community.

Our residents are enjoying a little Halloween voting at the general store today! We dug deep into the archives to find some movies to fit the October theme. Our residents are voting today on their favorite to be shown at an afternoon matinee later this month.
