John is Forever Grateful that his Sock Buddy, President George H.W. Bush, signed the Americans with Disabilities Act
You may know that John and former President Bush became sock buddies. John sent President Bush socks, and the President liked them so much he asked for more, and then he sent John socks. And then they exchanged letters. The former President tweeted out pictures of him wearing John's socks. He even wore socks John sent him at the funeral of his wife, Barbara Bush.
More importantly, President Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 1990. Working with congressional leaders, he changed the world for people like John and millions of others with a disability.
The former president touted John and John's Crazy Socks as an example of what he hoped the Americans with Disabilities Act would create. Our business serves as an example of what happens when we give people with a disability an opportunity.
