Meet our Medical Director, Dr. Swenson!
Dr. Swenson is an Oklahoma native with more than four decades of medical experience! After graduating from Putnam City High School, he earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Central State University (now UCO) and graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1982.
After completing his residency in emergency medicine at OU, Dr. Swenson spent decades caring for critically ill and injured patients throughout Oklahoma. For him, medicine has always been a way to serve others, combining his love of science with his desire to help people when they need it most.
A long-time friendship with Accident Care’s former Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Richard Cook, eventually brought him to Accident Care, where he continues to do what he loves.
Dr. Swenson is an avid motorcyclist who has logged an estimated 110,000-120,000 miles over the past 12 years. He has traveled across most of the western U.S., visiting places like Big Bend and Glacier National Park. And Dr. Swenson wants to make one thing clear...he rides a Yamaha Sport Touring bike and is not a Harley guy!
