Monroe Community Hospital is committed to providing quality long-term and rehabilitation care to individuals with complex and chronic health conditions.

MCH has grown to become one of the largest and most comprehensive skilled nursing facilities in New York State, providing quality long-term care to more than 566 individuals with complex or chronic health conditions. We are home to residents of all ages, from infants as young as eight weeks to adults more than one hundred years old. Approximately one quarter of our residents are under the age of 65. In addition, Monroe Community Hospital is the only facility in the region which provides long-term care for children.

Attention: New York State has declared the start of flu season. MCH reminds everyone to take extra precautions to help keep themselves and our community safe.

Getting a flu shot is considered one of the best ways to prevent the spread of the flu. Additional steps to help prevent the spread include:

• Practice frequent hand hygiene by washing your hands or using hand sanitizer.
• Cover coughs and sneezes to help prevent the spread of respiratory droplets. Cough into your elbow if necessary.
• Follow posted signs and instructions when entering resident care areas.
• Clean and disinfect shared equipment after use.
• Monitor for symptoms of respiratory illness and follow appropriate health guidance if symptoms develop.

Please remember that the flu poses serious risks to vulnerable individuals. We have free masks for anyone unvaccinated entering our building.

What a delicious success! The annual Taste of Our Community food and w**e event, hosted by the T. Franklin Williams Foundation, brought people together for an unforgettable evening of great food, fine w**e and community spirit.

A special thank-you to Morrison Healthcare for providing the delicious food, Marketview Liquor for its outstanding sponsorship, and Charles Schwab, EFPR, Elmwood Dental and District Council 4: The Painters Union for their support. We’re also grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this event such a success.

The Monroe Community Hospital Auxiliary celebrated its Diamond Anniversary recently with harp music, refreshments and gifts for residents.

Since 1966, the Auxiliary has raised more than $1.6 million to support programs, activities and amenities that enrich residents’ lives. Thank you for 60 years of generosity, service and dedication to our MCH community!
