ild and Adolescent Counseling Services
Mental health is a key component in a child’s healthy development. Children need to be emotionally and psychologically healthy in order to learn, grow, and lead productive lives. The Thrive model takes into account a very important reality: Children don’t know what therapy IS because therapy is a very adult concept. Kids need therapy for KIDS! Children’s brain development, verbal skills, impulse control, coping skills and reasoning abilities are immature and not the same as those of adults. Some see these as limitations . . . when in fact, using the competencies of childhood: fantasy, imagination, playfulness, curiosity and openness to learning are the best ways to help kids succeed. By expressing themselves symbolically through toys in play therapy, children are able to distance themselves from difficult feelings and memories, which are frequently too hard for them to talk about directly with others. This gives children the opportunity to communicate their fears, worries, problems, wishes, and desires to others, even if it is done symbolically through toys. Other adults in children’s lives, such as play therapists and parents, can then get a better understanding of children’s inner worlds, which allows these adults to understand what children need in order to provide the appropriate type of help and support. Family Therapy
Our family affects who we are and who we become, both for the better and for worse. We learn our vocabulary, our habits, our customs and rituals, and how to view and observe the world around us. Anyone seeking healthier, closer family relationships can benefit from family therapy. Family therapy is necessary to address family issues and heal a family’s wounds. If any of the above scenarios resonates with your family, consider seeking family therapy. Family therapy can be beneficial on many different levels. Couples Therapy
All things can be improved, changed and bettered, with just a little support, no matter how big or small. With couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs, and get what you want out of your relationship. In couples therapy sessions, we help you develop the necessary skills needed to maintain sustaining love.

At The Thrive Network, we believe every child and family deserves support, compassion, and opportunities to thrive. We are proud to support both resource families who open their hearts and homes to children in need, and reunification efforts that help strengthen and preserve family connections whenever safely possible.

Whether through fostering, kinship care, family support services, or community resources, our goal is to help create stability, healing, and hope for children and families navigating life’s challenges. We recognize that every family’s journey is unique, and we are committed to promoting understanding, resilience, and positive outcomes for all.

Together, we can build stronger families, stronger communities, and brighter futures.

In New Jersey, 65% of families are reunified after out-of-home placement.

These success stories are possble because of a team effort between the child's parents, their caseworkers, and the resource parents who have stepped in to provide temporary housing. Most times, resource care is being provided by kinship caregivers who are already close to the family.

During Reunification Month we celebrate the families who are doing the hard work to heal, and the resource parents and guardians who are crucial to keeping families safe, healthy, and connected.
