So many times I see children being labeled as “difficult” or “defiant” when what they truly need is support, safety, and understanding. 💚

But beneath these behaviors are often an overwhelmed child who doesn’t yet have the tools to communicate what they’re feeling.✨

But what do you think happens when we start to support them from a place of connection and co-regulation? 👀

Honestly, your child’s body may be carrying more stress than they know how to express. They may not have the proper words to express when they’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsafe.

Trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, creative expression, and co-regulation matters more than we credit. 💚

When we support the nervous system first, your child can begin to feel:
✨ safer
✨ calmer
✨ more connected
✨ emotionally aware
✨ and supported instead of punished

✨ From Survival Mode to Regulation ✨

We’re going to talk about what survival mode actually looks like in everyday life, how stress and trauma impact the nervous system, learn gentle regulation and body awareness practices, and learn how to create safety within ourselves again 💚

The world is not gonna be gentle and kind to my baby, so I want to give him grace, however, I still have to teach him accountability and about cause and effect. I have to teach him that his decisions will have consequences.

I’m mindful of his natural responses and I don’t want him to shut down or feel shameful.

Therefore, we typically try different approaches TOGETHER. 🤞🏽

You are the neutral light that keeps everyone in check; you’ve brought balance into our world, and your level of confidence in a baby is astonishing. You’re funny, easy-going, and cuddly ☺️

My mini me! You are my little piece of strength, walking around like you own the place! My baby genius and goof ball wrapped up in one. You’ve brought so much joy to our lives, Phoenix and we couldn’t be more proud.

Each year that passes, you’ve shown a level of resilience, strength, and bravery that surpasses the previous year.

You’re intuitive. You’re bright. You’re confident. You’re emotionally intelligent and I’m so happy you’ve chosen me to be your mama.

The first children’s yoga class that I’ve ever taught was an experience that I’ve never felt before. I barely had the words to describe how fulfilled I was after teaching.

I just knew. I felt the butterflies moving around excitedly in my belly. My mind was confused because I was so overjoyed… that feeling wasn’t always attainable prior to teaching. It was something I had to get used to.

Honestly, I’m still not used to that sense of fulfillment. I’m living the dream and I’m just waiting for someone to wake me up.

All I’m saying is, I’m blessed. 🫶🏽💚✨🙏🏽
