Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, bonus dads, and father figures. ❤️
When I think about a great dad, I think about my own.
Some of my favorite childhood memories aren't the big vacations or expensive gifts. They're the simple things. Fishing on quiet evenings. Chasing frogs after dark. Taking care of chickens. Riding through the woods. Learning how to work hard, help others, and appreciate the little things.
What I admired most then, and still admire now, is his heart. The genuine willingness to help someone in need without expecting anything in return. The kind of person who shows up when it matters.
As a pediatric provider, I see every day how much fathers matter. The dad who stays up all night with a sick child. The dad who plays on the floor. The dad who works long hours but still makes time for bedtime stories. The dad who keeps showing up, even when life is hard.
Those moments become memories. Those memories become security. And that security helps shape who our children become.
Today, we celebrate the fathers who lead with love, strength, patience, and presence.
Happy Father's Day, Daddy. Thank you for all the fishing trips, frog hunts, life lessons, and love that lasts a lifetime. 💙
