Over the last three years, North Star Manor made it our mission to update our transportation resources so we could provide safe, accessible travel for our residents. In just a few short years, we’ve accomplished almost everything we set out to do! Within the last year alone, we welcomed a new bus and a handicap-accessible van. Most recently, we added another "vehicle" to our fleet—which you’ve most likely seen out and about around town! We are thrilled to share that, thanks to countless donations and our passionate staff, we finally have our very own golf cart. Not only has this cart made getting to local events easier, but it has also made so many more outings possible—especially for our residents who use wheelchairs. Why is that? Because our golf cart is fully handicap-accessible, complete with a ramp and dedicated wheelchair space!

With every day that passes, our facility continues to experience incredible growth. Big ideas have turned into reality, and that is entirely thanks to our wonderful community and supporters. As this transportation chapter comes to a successful close, an exciting new one begins. Now that our transportation resources are right where they need to be, we are ready to turn our focus to our next big dream: updating our outdoor patio!

None of this would be possible without the remarkable people who surround us. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has volunteered, donated, or simply stopped by to visit and share a smile to help make this vision a reality. We are constantly blown away by the overwhelming generosity and heart of our community—so thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Rosalyn’s visits are officially one of our absolute favorite things here at North Star Manor! Last week, she stopped by with cold, fresh lemonade, bringing along lots of fun conversation and laughter that brightened up the whole afternoon. Her time with us was truly the highlight of the week, and we're already counting down the days until her next visit! 🍋

Our residents from North Star Manor had a fantastic time attending the Marshall County Civil War Living History Demonstrations in Warren!

From exploring the authentic Civil War camps and historical displays to watching the live history artillery demonstrations, it was an educational and memorable outing for everyone.

A big thank you to Stephen for providing the music at the Arts Center! We enjoyed listening to Downtown Horns and loved traveling to local communities to support their events and performances. A special highlight of the day was when a wonderful song was sung in honor of our anniversary couple, Don and Marlene Saiger. It was a memorable celebration for everyone involved.

We had a great time at the Alvarado Lions Corn Feed! It's always wonderful to support our local communities and enjoy the events they work so hard to organize. The corn on the cob was amazing, and the hamburgers and Polish sausage were yummy, too. We had such a good time that we're already planning to make this an annual outing!

The Warren Lions generously grilled a delicious supper for our Family Picnic, and everyone enjoyed the great food and fellowship. Toni Burton added extra fun to the celebration by making snow cones and cotton candy for residents and families.

We were also delighted to welcome Cathy Erickson and her daughter, Mary Jo, who provided wonderful entertainment throughout the evening. The event was filled with music, laughter, smiles, and plenty of dancing as residents, families, and friends came together to enjoy this special time.

A heartfelt thank you to the Warren Lions, Toni Burton, Cathy Erickson, and Mary Jo for helping make our Family Picnic such a memorable evening!
