What a fantastic evening aboard the Argia in Mystic!

Our recent sunset sail gave Shoreline United Networking members the opportunity to step away from their offices, put down their phones, and enjoy an evening of laughter, conversation, and incredible views with fellow business professionals who have become friends.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so memorable. From longtime members to newer faces, it was wonderful spending time together outside of our usual Tuesday morning routine. On the fourth Friday of every month, Shoreline United Networking hosts a Lunch & Learn at Filomena’s in Waterford, bringing together members and community professionals to share resources, insights, and practical knowledge that help businesses grow and thrive.

This month’s presentation was led by Peter Renden of Chelsea Groton Bank, who provided an eye-opening discussion on modern fraud trends and the ways financial institutions are working to combat them.

From phishing scams and business email compromise to evolving cybersecurity threats, Peter shared valuable information that every business owner should understand in today’s digital world. He also explained some of the tools, safeguards, and monitoring systems banks are using to help protect businesses and consumers from increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts.

The reality is that scammers are constantly adapting. Staying informed is one of the best defenses any business owner can have.

A big thank you to Peter for taking the time to educate our members and community. Presentations like these are exactly why our Lunch & Learn series exists: to bring people together, share knowledge, and provide resources that help all of us become better business owners and professionals.
