🧠 Acupuncture & the Brain: What Does New Research Show?

A new study analyzed data from 7 clinical trials involving 357 people with depression.

Researchers found that acupuncture was associated with changes in brain activity in areas involved in emotional regulation and the brain’s reward system.

Interestingly, these changes were different from those observed in people taking antidepressants.

Researchers believe this may help explain how acupuncture can reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.

But an important note: this is not proof that acupuncture “rewires” the brain. More research is needed.
