The week that we affectionately refer to as “Matthew 25 Week” at Luther Manor got pretty crazy on Wednesday! Downtown Harrison blew the roof off the Health Care Center with a mix of sing-alongs, Gospel favorites, and an encore performance from Tina Turner! All the while, our residents got to enjoy homemade banana splits made by the Matthew 25 crew!

Earlier that day, the kids led the residents in a rousing rendition of the Village People’s “YMCA” and helped cut out some crafts the residents plan on doing something cool with!

When our friends from Good Shepherd Catholic Church and their Matthew 25 youth ministry visit each summer, it is always a highlight of the year for both residents and staff!

On the first day of their visit, they packed so much kindness and fun into one day that everyone was amazed. They started the day by handing out donuts and coffee for Father’s Day, which our residents loved.

They also helped us clean up our woodworking room and spent time in the craft room making cards and notes for residents. They even helped clean up and organize the craft room afterward!

What a truly wonderful day filled with helping hands, creativity, and lots of smiles.

Last month, Rocketship Public Schools (Rocketship Transformation Prep School) came to Luther Manor for a second year to complete their service-learning day. We had thirty 4th grade students serve in our three care areas: The Terrace independent living community, The Courtyards assisted living community, and The Health Care Center skilled nursing community. They helped us with gardening, playing games, and doing nails The students brought many smiles to our residents' faces, and we are so grateful for their partnership!

The Terrace was full of birthday cheer as we celebrated our wonderful May birthdays in the Hearth Club! 🎉🧁 Residents gathered for cupcakes, laughter, and of course, a big chorus of “Happy Birthday” that echoed through the room. It was a sweet afternoon filled with smiles, celebration, and enough frosting-fueled joy to power a small parade.

Happy birthday to all of our May babies at The Terrace — we hope the year ahead is just as lovely as you are! 🎂💛

Earlier this month, Swan Pharmacy visited the Terrace to teach us all about mindful medication management 💊✨. We learned about different medications on the BEERS list (which, believe it or not, is not a ranking of Wisconsin’s finest brews 🍺😉), and residents had the chance to ask a pharmacist all their burning questions.

We also received the exciting news that Swan Pharmacy will be back again this year to host our flu clinic—woohoo for staying healthy together!

🎯☀️ As dartball season comes to an end, we’re so glad our Terrace residents spent their Tuesday evenings laughing, cheering, and tossing darts on the patio at 7 PM! 🎯💛

From friendly competition to those “so close!” shots 😄👏, this season was full of fun, fresh air, and plenty of team spirit. There’s just something special about warm evenings, great company, and the sweet sound of darts hitting the board. 🎯🌅

Enjoy your summer break, dartball crew! ☀️🍉 We can’t wait to see everyone back next season for more bullseyes, belly laughs, and patio fun! 🎉🎯

🥓🧇✨ It’s that time of the month again… Terrace Breakfast Social time! ✨🧇🥓

This month we flipped the script and had BREAKFAST FOR DINNER 🍳🌙 with the amazing help of the DSHA students 💛 Residents enjoyed waffles piled high with toppings, fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and enough syrup to make your dentist nervous 😄🍓🫐🍫

The laughter was loud, the plates were full, and the vibes were extra cozy this month 🥰☕ A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a fun evening!

We already can’t wait to see everyone next month for another delicious breakfast social! 🎉🧇💫

Earlier this month, we packed the Faith & Education Center with guests and potential future residents for "A Trip Down Broadway with the Civic Broadway Singers!" With all the energy and fun of a Broadway production, hands were clapping, bodies were swaying, and voices were singing along to all the favorites that make Broadway so special. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special afternoon, and to the Civic Broadway Singers for bringing us such a wonderful show!

The Terrace, Luther Manor's independent living community, hosted a Dementia Education Workshop last month. Thank you, Stephanie, who came in to educate us on dementia, and how caregivers can support their loved ones who are living with it. Very helpful!
