Teaching the heart of EMDR EMDR & Beyond grew out of a shared passion for the healing of suffering. Please inform your therapist if you prefer using masks.

Our Mission is to support and promote the healing of adverse life experiences through therapy, consultation, training and education. We offer psychotherapy specializing in the therapeutic approach EMDR. We also offer education for the EMDR theraputic community, with a range of EMDR topics, resources, workshops and workshop events for the EMDR clinician. Our EMDR Basic training is open to interns

and practicum students at a reduced rate, as part of their educational process. EMDR are following CDC guidelines in that wearing a mask is optional. If you are immune compromised or unvaccinated, masks are available.

For 2SLGBTQIA+ clients, the experiences driving the clinical picture — discrimination, internalized stigma, identity-based harm — accumulate across a lifetime. They don't always present as discrete traumatic incidents. And that shapes what EMDR clinicians need to look for.

The Minority Stress Model gives clinicians a research-based framework for understanding how these experiences encode in memory networks and what they produce clinically. Integrated into AIP case conceptualization, it changes how assessment, targeting, and reprocessing work with this population.

Adoption trauma rarely announces itself.

Clients with adoption histories often present with anxiety, relational difficulty, identity confusion, or chronic grief — and adoption never comes up as the source. Early separation and disrupted attachment encode into memory networks before language develops, and the clinical picture that follows can look like almost anything else.
