Our team in Maine recently received this handmade card from a CARD family who wanted to recognize the staff who have supported their child over the past two years. At our staff meeting, the CARD Portland (PO2) team took time to celebrate what makes our center so special: supporting one another, stepping up to help with makeups and fill-ins, retaining an amazing team, and providing consistent care for the families we serve. 💙

📚🐵 Character Week was full of stories, smiles, and a few grumpy faces... on purpose! 😄

Our Summer Camp Character Week at CARD was inspired by the beloved Grumpy Monkey book! Learners gathered for a fun read aloud, explored emotions through discussion, completed monkey-themed crafts, and brought their favorite pages to life with colorful creations. 🎨📖

Activities like these help build more than creativity. They encourage listening skills, emotional awareness, communication, social interaction, and a lifelong love of books, all while making learning engaging and fun.

From happy monkeys to grumpy monkeys, every feeling had a place, and every learner had a chance to shine. 💙
