Cooling Center information from the Town of Westerly:

Temperatures are expected to reach extremely high levels in the coming days. Cooling Centers will be open in the following locations:

Westerly Senior Center
39 State Street, Westerly
Tuesday - Thursday 8am-4:30pm

Westerly Library
44 Broad Street, Westerly
Tuesday-Thursday 9am-8pm and Friday 9am-6pm

It is recommended that you stay out of the heat as much as possible, drink plenty of water and check on neighbors and pets.

Today the Dante Society donated funds to the chef to keep the food program going throughout the summer.

I want to thank everybody involved. This is a wonderful program and since we started February 13th, we’ve given out more than 1,000 meals. Thanks to the Dante Society for purchasing a freezer and for the school culinary division to have made a ton of meals for us to keep in the freezer so we can keep this going until school starts in September.

New hours, however starting July 1st will be 3pm to 6pm Wednesdays only. Thank you and see you at 68 Pierce St.
