Asphalt can reach 150°F when the air is only 85°F. That's hot enough to cause burns in seconds.

Quick Test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds. If you can't keep it there, neither can your dog.

Summer is officially here and so is the heat.

Pets can overheat quickly, especially flat-faced breeds, senior pets, and those with thick coats. Watch for:

- Heavy panting
- Excessive drooling
- Lethargy and/or weakness
- Vomiting

If you notice these signs, move your pet to a cool area and call us right away.

Please join us in congratulating Christine on her 10th anniversary with Westfield Veterinary Group!

A decade ago, Christine joined our Union location's Emergency Department as a Certified Veterinary Technician. For years, she was a vital member of that fast-paced 24/7 team, helping save countless lives. Looking for a change of pace, she later transitioned to our Westfield location in a general practice role.

Since returning to Westfield, Christine has not only expanded her medical expertise but has also grown into a fantastic leader. Today, she heads our Out-Patient Department, leading a team of over 10 technicians with absolute grace and her signature smile.

Anyone who has worked with Christine knows that while her smile lights up the room, her laugh is even better. Her laugh is so powerful, you will hear it from across the building and it will instantly put you into a better mood. We are incredibly grateful for everything Christine has done for Westfield Veterinary Group and our patients over the last 10 years, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the next decade!
