Your child is going to hear stuff about every food out there. Chances are, that message is going to be extreme:⁠
⁠
“The healthy fats in avocados improve heart health!”⁠
⁠
“Avocados are high in calories so need to be eaten in moderation.” ⁠
⁠
They aren’t going to hear “middle of the road” information from the media. You can model it though. ⁠
⁠
If your family eats avocados, you can serve them. You can enjoy them or explore them with your family. You can also teach them positive things about fat when it comes up. You’ll be giving them a positive message they can take with them. When they hear that avocados have a lot of fat, they will know that fat is important and not something to be afraid of. ⁠
