Vitamin K is an essential part of the medical care provided to all newborns at birth. Delaying the injection, switching to an oral administration or refusing it all together can lead to severe bleeding and hemorrhaging which can be life altering and life threatening. With the rise of Vitamin K refusals here in the US has come an increase in the rate of these preventable hemorrhages in newborns. We urge you to administer Vitamin K to your newborn - ask your pediatrician if you have any questions or concerns.

Doctors described treating brain and abdominal hemorrhages in infants who hadn’t received the routine injection. Several said the images of those patients were seared in their minds.
