PRIVATE PRACTICE IS DISAPPEARING.

A generation ago, approximately 76% of physicians had an ownership stake in their practice.

Today? Just 35.4%.

And 82% of physicians are now employed by hospitals or other corporate entities.

That means more hospital systems, corporations, private equity firms and insurers sitting between doctors and the patients we serve.

Private practice is different.

When physicians own our practices, we have the opportunity to build care around our patients and our communities — not corporate mandates, quarterly earnings or shareholders.

Stratos DPC opened almost 5 years ago and we are proud offer personalized physician services. We were fortunate to have a way to practice medicine, through the Direct Primary Care model that fosters these type of relationships. We love practicing without any limitations from insurance or administration.

August 13th, we celebrate National Private Practice Physicians Day. At Stratos DPC we celebrate every physician who took the risk to hang their own shingle, employ people in their community and build the kind of healthcare they believe their patients deserve.
