Today, on HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day, we honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of people who have lived through every chapter of the HIV epidemic.

Long-term survivors have witnessed tremendous change, from the early days of uncertainty and stigma to the advances in treatment and prevention that have transformed HIV care. Their experiences, advocacy, and courage have helped shape the response we know today.

As we celebrate progress, we also recognize the unique challenges many long-term survivors continue to face, including aging with HIV, social isolation, stigma, and ongoing health disparities.

Today, we pause to listen, learn, and express our gratitude to the individuals whose perseverance continues to inspire communities across Delaware and beyond.

Your stories matter. Your voices matter. Your legacy matters.

Today, our Care Management and Operations teams joined public health leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, advocates, and policymakers from across Delaware at the 4th Annual Advancing Healthy Lifestyles Conference in Dover.

Hosted by the Delaware Division of Public Health, this year’s conference, Taking Action for Healthier Communities, brought together partners focused on advancing health equity, preventing chronic disease, and improving outcomes for Delawareans.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from experts, share best practices, and strengthen collaborations that support healthier communities. By investing in knowledge, partnerships, and innovation, we can continue delivering high-quality services that meet the evolving needs of those we serve.

Together, we can build a healthier Delaware for everyone.

Happy Pride Month 🌈

This month is about joy, visibility, community, and honoring the people who fought and continue fighting to make the world safer and more equitable for LGBTQ+ communities.

At the Delaware HIV Consortium, Pride is personal. So much of the progress in HIV advocacy, prevention, and care exists because LGBTQ+ communities refused to stay silent, cared for one another during times of crisis, and pushed public health systems to do better.

We know that many LGBTQ+ individuals still face stigma, discrimination, barriers to healthcare, and challenges simply trying to access affirming spaces and services. That is why this work continues to matter so deeply.

This month, we celebrate the resilience, strength, and humanity of LGBTQ+ communities across Delaware and beyond. We also reaffirm our commitment to creating spaces where people feel seen, respected, supported, and connected to the care they deserve.

To everyone celebrating Pride this month: we see you, we support you, and we are proud to stand with you.

Happy Pride Month 💙

We are excited to share that the Delaware HIV Consortium has been selected to receive funding through the ACCESS 988 Mini-Grant Program!

This project will allow us to expand awareness of the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline among underserved and high-risk communities across Delaware by integrating mental health and crisis support education into trusted, community-based public health settings.

Through this initiative, we will incorporate 988 awareness into outreach programs, HIV/STI prevention services, community events, and digital engagement efforts to help ensure more Delawareans know that support is available, accessible, and free.

Mental health is public health. And we are proud to partner in efforts that reduce stigma, strengthen access to support services, and meet communities where they are with compassion, dignity, and culturally responsive care.

We are deeply grateful to DSAMH and the ACCESS 988 team for this opportunity and look forward to the impact this partnership will have across Delaware communities.

Together, we can build healthier, more connected communities where no one feels alone in crisis.

Our team had an incredible time at Champion Your Health Day hosted by DSAAPD and the Milford Senior Center in celebration of Older Americans Month!

From meaningful conversations and community connections to fun competitions and wellness activities, the day was filled with energy, laughter, and an inspiring commitment to healthy aging.

We were honored to engage with community members and partner organizations while sharing resources and supporting wellness across mental, physical, and creative health.

A huge thank you to DSAAPD, the Milford Senior Center, event organizers, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. Events like this are a powerful reminder that community, connection, and prevention are essential parts of public health.

We are grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day and look forward to continuing these important partnerships throughout Delaware.

Today is HIV Vaccine Awareness Day ❤️

For decades, scientists, advocates, healthcare workers, and community members around the world have worked toward one shared goal: a future without HIV.

Today, HIV vaccine research is advancing in exciting ways, including new studies using mRNA technology and innovative immune-based approaches that were unimaginable just a few years ago.

But this day is also about people.

It is about the volunteers who participate in research studies.
The communities affected by HIV.
The advocates who continue to push for funding and awareness.
And everyone who believes prevention, science, and compassion can change lives.

Every breakthrough starts with people willing to believe progress is possible.

We honor everyone helping move us closer to a future where HIV prevention is stronger, more accessible, and ultimately lasting.
