September is National PACE Month. 🦋

Throughout the month, we're sharing educational information about the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and answering common questions about this unique model of care.

Who is eligible for the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly?

To enroll in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, individuals must:

• Be age 55 or older
• Live within the service area
• Meet nursing home level of care requirements
• Be able to live safely in the community with support from the program

The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly is designed to help eligible older adults receive coordinated healthcare and supportive services while remaining in their homes and communities whenever possible.

At Blue Ridge Care, the program brings together medical care, long-term services, and support through an interdisciplinary care team focused on each participant's unique needs. 💙

During National PACE Month, we're proud to celebrate the participants, caregivers, and team members whose stories reflect the difference PACE makes every day. Thank you for being part of the PACE community.

Next in our series, we'll explore the services available through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly and how they help support independence and quality of life.

When life becomes more complicated, knowing where to turn can make all the difference. 🦋

One of the most common things we hear from patients and families is, "We wish we had called sooner." Many people aren't sure when the right time is to reach out, but you don't have to wait until a crisis occurs to start the conversation.

Whether you're planning for the future, supporting an aging loved one, managing a serious illness, or facing difficult healthcare decisions today, Blue Ridge Care is here to answer questions, provide guidance, and help you understand your options.

Recently, Blue Ridge Care President and CEO Jason Parsons and Chief Medical Officer for Hospice, Dr. Sonja Richmond, joined Good Morning Washington to discuss Blue Ridge Care's 45-year legacy, our vision for the future of healthcare, and an important message for patients and families across our region: you don't have to navigate aging and illness alone.

September is National PACE Month. 🦋

Throughout the month, we'll be sharing educational information about the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and answering common questions about this unique model of care.

What is PACE?

PACE is a comprehensive program that provides and coordinates medical care, long-term services, and support for eligible older adults through an interdisciplinary care team. The goal of PACE is to help participants remain in their homes and communities whenever possible.

At Blue Ridge Care, PACE helps participants receive the care they need while maintaining their independence and staying connected to the people and places they call home. 💙

Follow along throughout September as we explore who may be eligible for PACE, the services it provides, the interdisciplinary care team model, and answers to common questions about the program.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. 🦋

Substance use and grief are often deeply connected. The loss of a loved one can increase the risk of substance use, while substance use can make it more difficult to process grief and may contribute to complicated grief. Recognizing this intersection helps us reduce stigma, foster understanding, and connect people with support when they need it most.

At Blue Ridge Care, we know that grief following an overdose or substance-related death can be especially complex. Through our grief support services, we're here to provide compassionate care, resources, and connection for individuals and families navigating loss.

Today, we remember those who have died, support those who are grieving, and encourage open conversations about substance use, recovery, and mental health.

If you or someone you know is grieving the loss of a loved one, support is available through the Center for Hope & Healing. Contact our grief support team at (540) 313-9275 or [email protected].

You may have noticed something a little different during your most recent visit to a Blue Ridge Care Thrift Shop. 🛍️

We've introduced a colored fastener system for many clothing items to help donations reach the sales floor more quickly, giving customers access to newly donated items sooner. The change also helps create a more consistent shopping experience across our thrift shop locations.

What hasn't changed? Finding great deals while supporting your community.

Look for sale signs throughout the store to see which colors are currently 25%, 50%, and 75% off. Our color sale program remains the same, making it easy to save while shopping with purpose.

Every purchase helps Blue Ridge Care deliver extraordinary care to improve life's journey.

For 45 years, Blue Ridge Care has been shaped by the people who have been part of the journey. 🦋

Their stories reflect the relationships, experiences, and shared purpose that have defined who we are and the care we provide.

Volunteer Barbara Ray has been part of that story for 13 years. Through serving patients, families, and caregivers, she's gained a deeper appreciation for life and the importance of finding beauty in each day.

"Volunteering with Blue Ridge Care has really changed the way I look at life. It is embracing every day and finding the beauty in every day."

Every child deserves support as they navigate grief. 💙

Our Center for Hope and Healing team recently had the opportunity to present to the Rotary Club of Martinsburg about the mission and impact of Camp Erin West Virginia, our upcoming free bereavement camp for children and teens who have experienced the death of someone significant in their lives.

Thank you to the Martinsburg Rotary Club for helping us spread awareness of this important program and the healing resources available to local families.
