🤝Certified Nurse Aides (2nd Shift)
🤝Licensed Practical Nurses (1st and 2nd Shift)

Today, on Purple Heart Day, we celebrated a truly historic milestone with our very first Purple Heart Day Luncheon.

We were honored that Governor Laura Kelly signed the official proclamation recognizing August 7 as Purple Heart Day in Kansas each year.

This proclamation is more than a document it is a lasting commitment to remember and honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of our Purple Heart recipients for generations to come.

We were especially proud to recognize the eight Purple Heart recipients who reside here at the Kansas Veterans' Home. Their bravery, sacrifice, and dedication to our nation inspire us every day, and it was a privilege to celebrate and honor them and their families during this special event.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported this event, and helped make this day possible. Your presence and support helped make our very first Purple Heart Day Luncheon a memorable occasion.

We will never forget the sacrifices made by our nation's Purple Heart recipients. Their courage, resilience, and service will always be remembered and honored.

What an incredible afternoon with Handpan Dan - Daniel Baird! 🎶✨

Daniel brought his mesmerizing handpan to our community and filled the room with beautiful music. He treated everyone to patriotic favorites along with fun **Christmas in July** tunes, creating the perfect mix of nostalgia and celebration.

Our residents and staff sang their hearts out, smiled from ear to ear, and truly enjoyed every moment. Thank you, Daniel, for sharing your amazing talent and helping create such a joyful afternoon. We can't wait to have you back! ❤️🎄🇺🇸

🎆 Firecracker Friday was a wonderful success at the Kansas Veterans’ Home! 🇺🇸
Today was filled with great food, fantastic music, and even better company. A huge thank you to Jess Bowling for providing the live music that kept everyone smiling and entertained throughout the day!
We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to the VFW Post 3544 Auxiliary members, who generously volunteered their time to help grill and serve an incredible 240 hamburgers and 240 hot dogs for our residents and staff that was donated by the American Legion Post 10 Auxiliary.
A special thank you to Gentiva Hospice of Winfield for donating the festive decorations that brightened all of our dining room tables and helped create a fun, patriotic atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
It was a beautiful day spent together, celebrating summer, friendship, and the spirit of our veterans. Days like these remind us that the best memories are made when our community comes together.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Firecracker Friday such a special event! ❤️🤍💙
